Hi, I'm Rajen

Welcome to my kitchen! I grew up surrounded by the scents, stories, and traditions of two incredible cultures: Mexican and Indian. My dad’s from Gujarat, my mom was Mexican, and after she passed, my stepmom (also Gujarati, from Mumbai) helped raise me — and taught me so much about Indian cooking.

Food was always the heart of things in our family. Whether it was my mom’s chicken enchiladas or my stepmom’s comforting Gujarati dal, the kitchen was where connection happened.

I chose to become vegetarian when I was 11 and then many, many years later after visiting an animal sanctuary, became vegan. Along the way, I’ve discovered so many techniques for bringing bold flavors into plant-based meals.

This blog is my way of sharing what I love: comforting, flavor-packed food that happens to be vegan. You’ll find everything from traditional Mexican and Indian dishes to fusion recipes and fresh takes on classics — all made with plants, and all made to be enjoyed.
